Strengthening Our Community: My Involvement with Denver’s RNOs

March 7, 2024

As a dedicated member of the Denver community and an active participant in the Washington Park East Neighborhood Association, I’m thrilled to share my insights and experiences about the value of Registered Neighborhood Organizations (RNOs) in our city. My involvement and perspectives were highlighted in a Denverite article, emphasizing the significance of these organizations in fostering community engagement and development.

The Essence of RNOs in Denver

RNOs are more than just community groups; they are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods. They provide a structured platform for residents to voice their concerns, share ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance our quality of life. Being part of an RNO has allowed me to connect with fellow residents, understand their perspectives, and work together towards common goals.

My Role and Vision

As a board member of the Washington Park East Neighborhood Association, I’ve had the unique opportunity to contribute to our community’s growth and well-being. My commitment to this role stems from a deep-seated belief in the power of collective action and the positive impact it can have on our neighborhood’s future.

Supporting RNOs: A City-Wide Initiative

The recent initiative by Councilmember Paul Kashmann to allocate funding to RNOs is a testament to their importance in our city’s fabric. This financial support is crucial for RNOs to function effectively, enabling them to organize events, communicate with residents, and undertake projects that benefit the community at large.

Why Your Involvement Matters

Engaging with your local RNO can be a transformative experience. It offers a platform to address issues that matter to you, collaborate with neighbors, and make tangible changes in your community. I encourage every Denver resident to consider joining or supporting their neighborhood organization. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected Denver.

As a passionate advocate for community engagement, I am proud to contribute to the strengthening of our neighborhood bonds through my involvement with RNOs.
